    Nadi Sodhana

    Nadi Sodhana in Sanskrit means "purification of the Nadis." The Nadis are energy channels through which life force energy, flows to energetic hubs in the body, called “chakras.” Nadi Sodahana breath balances both hemispheres of your brain, creating a sense of harmony and well-being, while balancing mind and emotion. This breathing technique helps relieve headaches, cleanses the nasal passages, supplies the blood with rich, oxygenated blood, calms and purifies the nerves.

    Viloma Breath & Chest Gripping

    In Viloma breath your inhalations and exhalations are interrupted with breath retention or controlled pauses; a visualization of this technique could be climbing up and down a ladder, pausing at each rung. Viloma breath lightens your body, strengthens the respiratory system, relieves feelings of anxiousness, aerates the lungs, cools your body, rests your nerves and soothes heated emotions.

    Ujjayi Breath

    "Uj" in Sanskrit means upward, as the breath in Ujjayi fills your lower belly, your lower rib cage and lifts into the upper chest and throat. The action and movement of the breath is controlled by the diaphragm. Ujjayi breath improves the function of your thyroid gland and also assists with regulating metabolism for mothers during postpartum.
