Embrace New Beginnings

Updated: Apr 4, 2020

The sun is out, the warm weather has arrived! Spring is here! As most of you know the spring equinox represents new beginnings. We are stepping out of the hibernating, dark winter energy and into a bright, creative and vibrant energy. Trees and flowers are budding, lambs are arriving, daffodils are blooming! The days are getting longer and the grass and hedges are becoming greener. We feel alive again, excited for the new shift and the beautiful warmer weather that is to come.

Our body’s naturally pick up on the shift energy that is created from the spring equinox. You will most likely notice a shift in your mood and energy levels. You may feel inspired to create something, start something new or even drop and old habit. It could be something as simple as feeling inspired to get into your garden and plant vibrant flowers and shrubs.

There is so much to learn from nature. Get outside in the sun, go for a walk along the river, in a sheep field and/or surround yourself amongst the trees. STOP. Acknowledge the beauty around you, the trees standing tall, proud and patient. Think about how long it took for the oak tree to grow as big as it is, as strong as is it. The river or ocean tide demonstrating ebb and flow and beauty of surrendering to ebb and flow versus resisting.

On an emotional and mental (perceptual) level we are encouraged to release old and dense emotions and thought perceptions that no longer serve us during the spring equinox. Releasing the old so we can create space for the new vibrant energies that are to come.

There are also shifts in our energy and life that we may not expect, new beginnings that weren’t planned. Such as the end of a relationship, shift in work, etc. These are the sort of changes that most commonly aren’t viewed as a new beginning, however only viewed as an end.

If you are experiencing a sudden change in your life, I highly recommend for you to be gentle on yourself. Allow yourself the space to experience the shock that naturally comes when a quick unperceived shift happens. Acknowledge the emotions that come up, feel them and allow yourself the space to release them. It’s an end with a new beginning.

“In order for a seed to achieve it’s greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, it’s insides come out and everything changes. To someone who doesn’t understand growth it would look like complete destruction.” - Cynthia Occelli
